Corsa .. Or Mk1 Golf?

Postby K18BLC on Thu Feb 19, 2009 9:24 pm

i currently have a corsa C, and im in two minds about selling it and getting a mk1 golf. i think they look awesome.

but some people are putting me off about them not being reliable etc, which i can understand because they are old cars.

what should i do??

can you not evolve your corsa anymore or have you just fallen out of love with it?

tbh i havnt really started spending alot on my corsa yet, i just see corsas and other euro'd cars on here and the corsas just dont compare except for jono's.
maybe i should try getting the modding bug back for my corsa.. or just go all out on a mk1 golf? i really dont know lol :(

in coolness... MK1 all the way.

But... be prepared to pay alot of money for one in good condition. unless you want a long project.

and granted: there not going to be as reliable as a corsa, but just depends on how looked after the car is!

MK1 Golf. But then I do prefer Retro's. Obviously, it will never be as reliable, and the heater will never be warm, it's not as refined, etc. But thats all part of the fun with owning something old. The good thing with MK1's, is that a simple drop and some sweet rims can make them look awesome.

I love the MK1's but i also think corsas can look mint as well. If its going to be your daily as well you might want to consider what one would be easier to live with? I want an MK1 but that would be a long way off if i do get one as i need a younger car for work.

Sure is. Old pic though.

I'd probably go with the corsa, but I've never been in a MK1 golf to know what they drive like.

Easily i would say Mk1. But the cost to buy one, and make it awsome is very high. To make it clean and reliable isnt going to be cheap. It depends how far your going to be looking.

I've got a mk1 gti and if your not good with a spanner stay with the corsa, my old mans got a corsa c and I always use that for doing any distance cos I don't trust my mk1.

to put it simply.....

mk1 -
Pro's: looks cool, endless modifying possibilities
Con's: Rust, reliability

corsa -
Pro's: reliable, comfort
Con's: common, not as cool
