Pea's MK3 Golf get's err washed.

Postby Pea on Fri Jan 09, 2009 8:45 pm

READ IT, IT'S NOT JUST PICS :D

Stuff used:
TW Car shampoo, with some Fairy liquid too for bubbles
Car Plan Eco Wheel Cleaner + Brush
AG Poilsh
Meg's Wax
Meg's tyre Gel
AG Glass cleaner
Meg's Metal polish
TW Cock Shine
Black Ice Magic tree
Various foam pads, MF cloths, MF wash mitt
Bucket and a bin.

To keep some of you detailing buffs happy i've done a few things to help along the wash this time and may please you.

First I changed my headunit to tidy the interior, then took off my numberplates to clean behind them. Tried a fake foaming thing, and also two bucket method for the first time, except I only own one bucket so used a Ikea bin :D

It came out pretty spanking! I included a few during pics!

Before:

During:
Wash:
Started with a Pressure wash, then cleaned the wheels with brush, then added soap to pressure washer for 'make believe' foamer, then two bucket wash down and rinse, dryed.

Detail:
added tyre gel, then polish, then wax, then detailed black trim, added new number plates, drove to shake out any loose water, parked and dryed again.

My cleaning shizzle! Don't even take the piss!

Good bit of cleaning their mate although I'd leave the Fair Liquid out to be honest, won't really be adding any benefit and will strip back any kind of protection you put down.

Otherwise though, looks very tidy.

^^ Cheers mate. Yeah that was the plan to strip it right back and get rid of all the shite/silicon etc, and start again. Tbh, it's ok to use if your going to layer it back up, i.e I added a coat of polish and two of wax. Usually use Meg's Gold class shampoo though :)

shaunmc: That was the bin from my room

We have the same bin in our place as you're '2nd bucket'! lol

If you're polishing mate, you wouldn't need to strip back anything as the polish will remove anything on their.

If you're not big into your detailing but like a clean car, try and get some Collinite 476 wax. Only needs to be done every 4-6 months. :)

Spot on mate, nice bot of gear too minus whats been said (Its acidic and damges paint if used all the time, you seen what it does to your skin? lol)

If your after a soapy sudd wash try some megs gold class, easy to get hold off and seems to be what your after 8)

Ohh and the car looks lovely too.

Lol as said in my post before, I wanted to strip down all shit/ wax/ silicon off my car in one, so a bit of Fairy helped to degrese. I do use Meg's Goldclass all the time usually. Plus it leaves my hands Fairy soft ;) lol

On another note, im suprised how well the 2 bucket method works. Shit water in one, clean soap in the other at the end :D.

Toby: I know, it's black again already

The traffic light reminds of going in a cab when I was a bout 6 years old and wondering what the hell it was! lol
