Right want to get a decent camera but really dont know what the best Digital SLR cameras are - i have around 400 notes to spend - recommendations pleeease

my parents have olympus as a client and when they got the stock in i had a play with all of the slrs.

id say go for the 410 opposed to the 520. its a bit smaller and cheaper (which is always good) and the only real difference is that it lacks the image stabiliser. which when i tried it was pretty shite. my advice would be spend the extra amount of money on a good tripod which will make a hell of a lot more difference to the way your pics come out.

i have a few photography mates so i know quite abit about the camera's and photography and i'll also be buying a dslr soon aswell


ok you want to go for a nikon or canon but canon is still alot better
if you can chuck in another 50 you can get the cannon eos 450d

good advise but not strictly true. to be honest canons arnt a lot better then nikons and nikons arnt better then canons . if you looking at two cameras for the same price there pretty much the same. even though i am a canon man my self

canon 400d or 40d if you have abit more spare cash. get a 2gb cf card, a good sturdy tripod and yourl be set

max lets compare the 450d (i say go for it), the 40d and the 400d

450d is nearly cheapest has more mega pixel then other two, bigger resolution, has a longer flash range and the lightest

40d is way more expensive,less megapixels and doesn't even have a live view


so tbh my choice (eos 450d) owns yours

dude first off the amount of mega pixels truly doesnt matter over about 6 unless your doing mega cropping or printing it about the size of a wall, ask most photographers and their tell you the same thing.

as for the flash, i never noticed because i use horseshoe mounted ones. so my hands are tide in an opinion about those :S

lastly, trust me the 40d is a lot better then the 450. ive used both when my camera broke and i borrowed friends for weeks at a time. its got a fast boot time, its slightly bigger (in my books its a good thing) and all the sensors are much much better!
